Marie Owens, age 72 of Decatur, passed away on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at Athens Limestone Hospital. Mrs. Owens was born January 18, 1946 in Limestone County to Melvin Owens and Corene Sims Owens.
Services for Mrs. Owens are Saturday, December 22, 2018 at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. with Jerry Smith and Benny Sivley officiating. Visitation will be Saturday, December 22, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:45 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Elk View Cemetery.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas Owens; sons, Chris Sherrill (Tracey) and Tracey Sherrill (Jennifer); daughters, Charla Harbin (Anthony) and Cindy Vinson (Alan); brother, Joe Owens (Lynne); sister, Joyce Smith (Jerry); sisters-in-law, Janet Owens and Brenda Owens. 8 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild.
Preceded in death by her parents and brother, Milton Owens and Kenneth Owens.
Pallbearers are Darin Owens, Jeremy Smith, Doug Owens, Trevor Owens, Benjamin Owens, Murry Hartsfield and Adam Brooks. Honorary pallbearer is Steve Owens.
