Marie Louise Oxford, age 95, of Huntsville, AL passed away Saturday, December 18, 2018 at a local retirement village. She was born in New York, NY to Edward Frederick and Albertine Rebecca Kretschmer. She married her husband George Thomas Oxford in 1942 and had been married almost 58 years at his death. Mrs. Oxford work as a company executive for a retail grocery chain. She was a 25 year member of the DAR Ft. San Nicholas Chapter in Jacksonville, FL and a past president of the Jacksonville, FL YWCA. She was a member of the United Church of Huntsville, AL
Mrs. Oxford was preceded in death by her husband of almost 58 years George Thomas Oxford; her parents Edward Frederick and Albertine Rebecca Wehrly Kretschmer.
She is survived by her sons Edward McKinley Oxford (Christine) and Thomas Paul Oxford (Carole); her daughters Ellen Oxford Massey (Ralph) and Rebecca Louise Oxford (Harold Clifford Stocking); many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
There will be a memorial service on Sunday, December 23, 2018 at Unity Church on The Mountain 1328 Governors Drive SE Huntsville, AL 35801 at 2:30 pm. There will be a burial at High Springs Cemetery in High Springs, FL at a later date.
