Jessie Wayne Smith – Obituary

Mr. Jessie Wayne Smith, 81, of Mount Hope passed away December 15, 2018 at his residence from an extended illness. He was retired from Wolverine Tube after 30 years of service and was a member of the Methodist church.

A memorial service will be held today, December 18, 2018 at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church, Mount Hope, with O.D. Bowling, Odell Gholston and Dewayne “Buddy” Smith officiating. Burial will be at a later time at Mount Hope Methodist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Smith is survived by his former wife, Patsy Graham Smith; children, Ronnie Smith of Mount Hope and daughters, Patti Smith and Joan Bolton and husband, Eddie, all of Russellville; sister, Sarah Herring and husband, Harold, also of Russellville. Four grandchildren, Lyndi Little, Corey Bolton, Sydney Green and Evan Bolton also survive him as do three great-grandchildren, Dakota, Jaxon and Maggie Mae. Nieces and nephews also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Louise Scruggs Smith and siblings, Morris Smith and Jean Smith.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Mount Hope Senior Center, 3142 County Road 460, Mount Hope, AL 35651.

Pinkard Funeral Home, Russellville, is directing.
