Robert Carver Oldham, Sr., 91, of Florence, went to be with the Lord on December 15, 2018. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Thelma Wilson Oldham; children, Robert C. Oldham Jr. (Kathy), William L. Oldham (Becki), James L. Oldham, and Rhonda Oldham Montgomery (Charlie); grandchildren, Melissa Oldham, Robert Oldham III, Madison Oldham, William Oldham Jr., Joy Oldham, Sarah Oldham, Ellen Montgomery, Andrew Montgomery (Abbie), and Mary Beth Montgomery; sister, Doris Oldham Strickland; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Albert Lynn and Margaret Carver Oldham; brothers, Albert Oldham Jr. and Alvis Oldham; sisters, Lena Ellen Oldham, Lois Oldham Avery, Mary Oldham Stamper, and Ruth Oldham Miriello.

Mr. Oldham was a U.S. Navy WWII veteran having served on the aircraft carrier USS Anzio CVE-57. He was a member of American Legion Post 11. After graduating from Elon College in North Carolina, Mr. Oldham worked for GAB Business Services for 40 years before retiring to spend time with his family and friends. He has been a resident of Florence, Alabama since 1952. He was a member of Highland Baptist Church for 50 years. The visitation will be on Tuesday, December 18th at 9:00 AM at Greenview Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 10:00 AM in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Chris Underwood officiating. A graveside service will follow at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
