Betty Caneer Carter – Obituary

Betty Caneer Carter, 90, of Huntsville, passed away Thursday. She was preceded in death by her parents, Kathlyn Anderson Caneer and E. A. Caneer of Huntsville. Betty was a 1947 graduate of Huntsville High School. She worked at First National Bank, and then founded and was co-owner of Carter Skate Land on Traylor Island in Huntsville. She later retired from Colonial Bank (formerly known as Bank of Huntsville). After retirement from the bank, she became the office manager at Orthopedic Associates.

Survivors include her daughter, Dee Petcher (Randy); and grandchildren, Haley Elizabeth and Casey Noel Petcher.

Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday, December 17 at Cornerstone Church. The funeral service will follow at the church at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Jackie Gaston officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to HHF, Hospice Family Care Inpatient Hospice Fund, 801 Clinton Ave. E, Huntsville, AL 35801.
