Opal H. White – Obituary

Opal H. White, 91, of Huntsville, passed away Thursday. She was preceded in death by her parents, A.L. and Ruth Hudson, her siblings, Thurlo Hudson, Fred Hudson, Lavola Thompson, Betty Scalf, and Leola Jones, her daughter, Debra Lynn Agnew, and son-in-law Joe McAllister.

Survivors include her husband, William B. White; daughters, Daphne Tidmore (Richard), Sue White Clark (Joel), and Carol McAllister; sons, Dennis Harold Agnew (Suzanne), and Mike White; grandchildren, Gabrielle George (Jammarae), Kelsey Clark (Nathan), Sissy Lopez (Ramses), Faith Tidmore, Will Clark McAllister, and Brett Clark; great-grandchildren, Israel and Zechariah George, and Layton and Nolan Lopez; and special friends, Teresa and Greg Hawkins and Victoria and Blake Ashley.

Opal was a member of Sherwood Baptist Church and more recently Pure Faith Ministries in Cullman, Alabama.

Opal was an avid gardener, artist, and quilter. She was generous and loved to share her talents with family and friends.  Several local nursing homes and the Huntsville Hospital Neonatal Unit are also recipients of Opal’s handmade quilts and artwork. Opal especially enjoyed taking care of children and her grandchildren whom she adored.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, December 15 at Laughlin Service Funeral Home. The funeral will follow in the chapel with Pastor Michael Glover officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Horton, AL.

Memorials may be given to Kindred Hospice or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
