Cornelia Dare “Mamaw” Cornelius – Obituary

Cornelia Dare “Mamaw” Cornelius, 93, of Rogersville passed away Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at Lauderdale Christian Nursing Facility. She was a member of Elgin Church of Christ.

Visitation will be today, December 13, 2018 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Rogersville Funeral Home with funeral service following and burial in Thornton-Ingram Cemetery. James Waddell and Joey Barrier will be officiating. Pallbearers will be Jeff Cornelius, Jamie Cornelius, Rob Cornelius, Eric Cornelius, Jay Cornelius and Coby Young.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Tommie; infant daughter; great-granddaughter, Kayleigh; parents, L.J. Sr. and Ada Mae Grisham; mother and father-in-law, Sallie and Wooster Cornelius; four sisters and five brothers.

Mrs. Cornelius is survived by her sons, Thomas Ray (Barbara), Ingram (Kay), Joel (Cheryl Ann) and daughter, Trish (Randy) Burns. She was a loving “Mamaw” to 12 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; four great-great- grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and a very special friend, sister-in-law and caregiver, Brenda Grisham.

A special thank you to the staff of Lauderdale Christian Nursing Facility and Dr. Robert Webb for their special care for Mamaw.

She was “Mamaw” and a friend to many people who will be missed by all.
