I met Dani Jordyn in Dothan, Alabama back in July of 2108. She was wrestling at a Continental Championship Wrestling card against The Priscilla Kelley. I talked briefly with Dani. I photographed her match and was impressed with intestinal fortitude and determination against her opponent. I have always heard that dynamite comes in small packages and Dani Jordyn is a prime example of this.
Since I have gotten into the Professional Wrestling business, I receive notices of matches throughout the United States. I began seeing Dani’s names on several of the notices. Looking back the last couple of months, Dani has taken the southeastern area, especially Georgia and Alabama by storm.
I asked Dani if she would agree to an Exclusive interview with me for the Quad Cities Daily, which she did. Below are the questions that I asked her. Her answers will be in (Italics).
- Tell me about Dani Jordyn, your upbringing, education, etc.
“I was born in Long Island, New York. I moved to North Carolina where I attended and graduated from High School. After graduating from High School, I moved to Savannah, Georgia. I am 24 years old.”
- How did you break into the sport of Professional Wrestling?
“I had been thinking about it for awhile. Originally I don’t know if it was realistically for me, but began to really think about it. I was in the Baywatch movie with the Rock (Dwayne Johnson) and talking with him really started me to thinking. With the rise of the 4 Horsewomen from MMA to Professional Wrestling did it for me. I began my career in 2016.”
- Ric Flair has gone on record several times saying that he really liked working with Sting. Let’s flip that to Dani Jordyn. Who did you like working with the most?
“I would have to say that I really liked working with Ashton Star. We have had several male vs. female matches. We seem to have a good chemistry and we take each other to the limit.”

- Is it tougher for a female to break into the sport of Professional Wrestling than a Male?
“I believe so. Women’s Wrestling 10 years ago is totally different that today. There are the stereotypes that men are stronger and better than women. With the different direction that the WWE as well as TNA have gone with their women’s division, it has helped us to break into the sport.”
5. As an athlete in any sport, injuries are to be expected. Have you had any major injuries?
“I have had some minor ones. I have had fractured a rib one time. I have shoulder that I am about to get looked at. Other than that, I have been lucky.”
- How do you stay physically fit?

“I work out. I try to eat healthy.”
- I know that you work at DDP Yoga. How did you wind up with that job? What is it like working there?
“I love working there. I was very fortunate to get my job there. I knew someone that worked there and asked if they were hiring. She told me that she was about to leave and I was hired. I now have the position that she had. It is so amazing to work there.”
- I recently interviewed “White Lightning” Tim Horner who worked with Arn Anderson in the WWE several years ago. One of the comments that Tim told me about was that Arn said that “today’s wrestlers and fans did not know who he was.” In your opinion, how does that reflect back to the history of Professional Wrestling when they don’t know who The Enforcer Arn Anderson is? The person how named the Four Horsemen.
“Sadly that happens. It has happened to me. I did not know who an older wrestler was. With technology today such as the internet, this can be overcome. I would suggest to anyone that is in the wrestling business to do your research. Also, watching matches with these wrestlers that have come before us is a good way to do research.”
9. Recently on an interview, Jim Cornette stated that “wrestling was dead in the world of Sports Entertainment.” Do you agree or disagree with that?
“I would have to disagree with that statement. I do believe that the sport did go through a time where not as popular but now I believe it is growing. With athletes such as Rhonda Rousey leaving the UFC and now competing in the WWE, it now has a different fan base than before.”

10. In your opinion do female Professional Wrestlers have “more to prove” than their male counterparts?
“Yes we do. Men are perceived to be stronger and better than females. In the past, women’s wrestling has been about looks of the athlete. Back then, women were half dressed and competed in matches such as Bra and Panty matches. Today, women’s wrestling is more about the sport and less about the looks.
- Who are some of the Professional Wrestlers that motivated you to get into this sport
“I would have to say that Rhonda Rousey was one of the main ones. I really like Lita for her attitude.

Shawn Michaels was an inspiration for me as well as the 4 Horsewomen.”
12. Do you have any pets?
“I do. His name is Stark as in Tony Stark from the Iron Man franchise.”

- What does Dani Jordyn like to do to relax away from the Wrestling Ring?
“I am usually watching TV at home. Mostly I watch comedies.”
**For the next question, I must give a little history behind it. I met Hayden back in May of 2018. He is an 11 year old little boy that has battled Leukemia 3 times. He had told me in June that he would like to meet Dani. Dani was going to be in Dothan in July of 2018. Hayden and his Dad were going to be at the arena that night. I was going to introduce Hayden to Dani. Sadly, Hayden wasn’t feeling well and did not make it. I told Dani about this and asked the following question:***
- What do you have to say to 11 year old Hayden who has fought Leukemia 3 times?
“Keep hanging in there. Keep Fighting. Never give up. I want to say that it means so much to me that he wanted to meet me. That is so awesome. “

- What would you like to say to the Dani Jordyn fans out there today?
