Timothy "Tim" Butler Timothy “Tim” Alonzo Butler, 73, died Sunday, December 9, 2018, at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo. On February 4, 1945, he was born to John Buford and Zippria Reno Butler in Decatur, Alabama. Tim grew up in Falkville, Alabama and lived there his entire life until last year moving to Tupelo to be close to his daughter. Tim was employed with Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company where he retired several years ago. Tim was a gifted musician who loved to sing and pick the guitar to country music and old gospel hymns. He made a name for himself when it came to fine tuning and repairing guitars. Tim’s passion and hobby for piddling with guitars acquired quite the collection over the years. In addition to collecting guitars, Tim also enjoyed collecting vintage coins. Tim was strong in his faith and possessed a generous soul who believed in giving back, and he did so through mail ministry.

Tim is survived by two daughter, Stacy Ashcraft and her husband, Brad of Tupelo and Robbie Homes Sparks and her husband, Larry of Cullman, Alabama; four grandchildren, Savannah Rose Scruggs, Jackson Ashcraft both of Tupelo, Brittany Stephens and Trenton Stephens, both of Cullman, Alabama; three sisters, JoAnn Montgomery of Hartselle, Alabama, Nelladean Green and her husband, Pat of Falkville, Alabama and Sandra Childers of Eva, Alabama; two brothers, Kenneth Butler of Falkville, Alabama and Terry Butler of Falkville, Alabama; one great-granddaughter, Kaylee Rogers of Arab, Alabama; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Buford Butler and Zippria Butler Tanksley and one sister, Jean Butler.

Visitation will be 5 until 8 p.m. Monday, December 10, 2018 and one hour prior to service time on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at Peck Funeral Home in Hartselle, Alabama.

Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 11, 2018, at the Peck Funeral Home Chapel in Hartselle, Alabama. Burial will follow in New Hope North Cemetery. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the local arrangements.
