ATHENS-Clear your calendars for a FREE Fun-Filled Day in the park. Athens Limestone County Tourism will be hosting this all day event filled with Christmas, Christmas and more Christmas activities.
Starting from 2p.m. – 5p.m. Sun Loans & Tax Services, along with Athens-Limestone Tourism are sponsoring a free ornament decorating activity for kids of all ages. They will be able to decorate 2 ornaments and take home or leave one for Santa!
The Optimist Club of Athens is sponsoring a cookie decorating activity. The Optimist Club will provide the baked cookies, the items needed to decorate the cookies, and will have volunteers available to help with decorating. The Optimist Club will also have their food truck available.
Innovative Realty will be sponsoring a “Letters to Santa” activity. Santa’s helpers assist the children in writing their wish-list which can be given to Santa that evening or placed in the North Pole mailbox located in the park to be mailed to Santa. Be sure to include your address so Santa can respond before Christmas Day!
There will also be craft vendors on hand for anyone who may need to pick up that unique & original gift for someone special.
5p.m. – 7p.m.
Santa arrives at Big Springs Memorial Park at 5 PM and will visit with all the children to hear what they want this year for Christmas. Parents may take photos of their children with Santa and watch them ride the Lions Club Train as the Snowfalls!
Santa will read “Twas the Night Before Christmas” at the end of the evening inside the Tourism Office meeting room for a great way to end a fun-filled day. All activities are free to the community to enjoy.
