Tucker Davis, Jr. – Obituary

Tucker Davis, Jr., 79, of Mt. Pleasant, TN passed away on December 5, 2018 at his home.

Mr. Davis was born on February 25, 1939 to the late Tucker Davis, Sr. and Ruby Tidwell Davis Martin. He married “Becky” Rebecca Green on January 17, 2004. They shared fourteen wonderful years together. Mr. Davis graduated from Franklin High School and went on to be a dispatcher for Nashville Ready Mix and Williamson County Ready Mix. He also raised tobacco and tended cows on his farm. He lived on Thompson’s Station Road for 40 years before moving to Mt. Pleasant in 2001. He was a member of United Church of God in Brentwood, TN. He loved to tear things down. Cars, tractors, lawnmowers… he was always fixing something! He loved gardening. He referred to his garden as an “early or late” garden, referring to Spring and Winter. He had an orchard with a variety of fruits. He enjoyed canning & giving all of his canned goods to senior citizens, church members and anyone in need. He loved his church and performed many task and duties as was entrusted to him. He also loved NFL football; especially the Titans & Falcons.

Mr. Davis is survived by his wife, “Becky” Rebecca Davis of Mt. Pleasant; son, Kerry (Sherry) Davis of Lewisburg, TN; daughter, Karen (Don) Brown of Spring Hill; son, Kelly (Kristy) Davis of Spring Hill, TN; granddaughters Cassie (Jordan) Kiernan, Kelsey Davis & Brianna Brown; grandsons, Donald Brown, Kody Davis & Kaden Davis; great grandchildren, Kylie Burton, Mathew Burton and Emma Fritts. Siblings are Carolyn Brown and Judie (Ed) Sissom. Mr. Davis was preceded in death by his parents, Tucker Davis, Sr. and Ruby Tidwell Davis Martin; siblings, Marion Davis, Kathleen Latta and Peggy Hood.

Services will be held on December 7, 2018 at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia, TN at 3:00 pm. Visitation with the family will be 1:00 to 3:00 pm on the 7th. Family visitation starts at 12:00.

Honorary Pallbearers: Frank Martin, Rob Nichols, Paul Bean

A memorial service will be conducted at a later date at Brentwood Presbyterian Church.
