  • December 6th, Lenny Leblanc & Tasha Hill are performing to raise money to support the non-profit Helen Keller Festival. The money from this show will go to support the 41st annual Helen Keller Festival next June!
  • December 8th we have a SOLD OUT show featuring Tyler Childers (The Appalachian artist who is taking the world by storm) that is benefiting the Tuscumbia Education Foundation. All of the money raised is put back into the Tuscumbia school system by supporting teachers and providing scholarships to students.
  • December 14th we have the Secret Sisters with local favorites Fathers and Sons, as well as Pond Diver, performing to raise money for A New Beginning. A New Beginning helps women who are on the path to addiction recovery.
  • December 15th we have the one and only Paul Thorn. Opening for Paul is singer/songwriter Travis Meadows who has had songs cut by many of today’s top country artists including the single “Better Boat” that was released two months ago by Kenny Chesney.

Thank you to everyone who donated to our Giving Tuesday campaign! With your help, we raised $735! We still have a long way to go until we reach our goal, but every little bit helps! If you find that you have extra this holiday season, we ask that you would consider donating to the Shoals Community Theatre! All donations are tax deductible as we are a 501c3 non profit. Come hear what Rolling Stone calls a “one-of-a-kind voice … as crisp as a child’s but breaks with the pain and knowledge of a weathered man.” Childers songwriting tells stories of Appalachia, and life in general, that are easily relateable. His voice draws you in and the lyrics, backed by driving guitars and melodies, make you stay. His lyrics paint clear pictures of joy, pain, love, and life. Paul Thorn with Travis Meadows

Paul Thorn with Travis Meadows
Sat Dec 15, 2018 7:00 PM
Shoals Theatre, Florence, AL
Raised in Tupelo, Mississippi, among the same spirits (and some of the actual people) who nurtured the young Elvis generations before, Paul Thorn has rambled down back roads, battled four-time world champion boxer Roberto Duran on national television, signed with and been dropped by a major label, performed on stages with Bonnie Raitt, Mark Knopfler, Sting, and John Prine among many others, and made some of the most emotionally restless yet relatable music of our time. With 20 years of writing, touring, and entertaining under his belt, he shows no sign of slowing down with his new record, Don’t Let the Devil Ride, breaking genre barriers and topping charts, putting a new twist on his already-entertaining live show.
