ATHENS-Athens Police Chief Floyd Johnson releaed a statement concerning three cases that the Athens Police are investigating and looking for the suspects.  These incendents are not releated bu if you have any information on any of them please contact the Athens Police Department at  256-233-8700:

“This morning shortly after 2:00 the police department received multiple calls of shots fired on Cloverleaf Drive. When officers arrived they located a victim in the 200 block of Cloverleaf Drive. She told officers she was sleeping when 2 black males wearing ski mask broke a glass and entered her apartment.

One of the men was described as being about 6’ and the other being around 5’8”. Both men were dressed in all black. The victim told officers one of the men came into her bedroom and put a gun to her head and asks her if she sold drugs, she told them she did not. They went through her purse and phone then took her TV before leaving.

Officers also made contact with a second victim that told officers he had come home from work and found his apartment was broken into. He was also missing a TV.

Officers also made contact with a third person that told officers she heard a lot of banging down stairs. When she went to see what was going on they located a broken glass in the back door. Around the same time several acquaintances came up and several people were standing in the parking lot area when a vehicle traveling north on Cloverleaf went by the apartments. The car went up the street and then stopped and nine shots were fired.

Currently investigators haven’t located anything that any of the shots hit. We’re not sure if the shots were fired at a person object or simply up in the air. A worker at the water treatment plant south of the incident called and said shots hit the building, however officers were unable to locate any evidence or damage. The worker also told officers he heard shots going through the wooded area.

The investigation into these cases continues and if anyone has any information we ask they call the Athens Police Department at 256-233-8700.”
