ATHENS-Athens Police Chief Floyd Johnson released a statement on Friday, November 30 concerning the arrest of a suspect wanted breaking and entering of several vehicles in the Athens area:

“Tyrese Jamal Sales was arrested yesterday for 2 counts of breaking and entering a vehicle.

Investigators Jonathan Caldwell and Jarrod Smith had been working on several cases where vehicles had been broken into. Sales were developed as a suspect when Madison police Sgt. Greg Dees stopped him on November 21, 2018 in Madison. Dees located a credit card that belonged to one of our victims.

Yesterday investigators executed a search warrant at Sales residence. They recovered several items that were taken from cars on November 21, 2018. Sales was booked at the police department and later transferred to the county jail.”
