Edith Johnston Ledbetter – Obituary

Edith Johnston Ledbetter, 89, died Friday, November 30, 2018 at her residence. She was born April 18, 1929 in Alabama to Husie Johnston and Lonie Humphres Johnston. She was a homemaker and a member of Pilot Hill Baptist Church, Vina, AL.

Services will be Sunday, December 2, 3 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Red Bay, AL with Bro. Tim Harris and Bro. Greg Thorn officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Red Bay, AL. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL will be in charge of arrangements.

She is survived by one daughter – Linda Harmond (Tom) Mathiston, MS; four grandchildren– Jamie Gray McNeil (Shane), Cody Patrick Gray (Tracey), James Ryan Seahorn and Jordan Chance Seahorn; eight great-grandchildren; three sisters – Marie Lemay, Averine Ledbetter and Sue Davis and two brothers – Howard Johnston and Billy Johnston.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Edward Ledbetter and a daughter, Vondia Lynn Pharr.

Pallbearers will be her nephews – Benny Johnston, Hugh Johnston, Terry Hall, Belton Johnston, Jr., Charles Edward Spencer, Jr. and Ted Lemay.

Visitation will be Sunday, December 2, 2-3 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL.
