William (Bill) Joseph Bennink, 46, of Huntsville, Alabama, passed away suddenly of a heart attack on November 15, 2018.  Bill was born on December 19, 1971 in Syracuse, New York where he spent his childhood years. He moved with his family to Grand Rapids, Michigan in 1986, graduating from Forest Hills Central High School in 1990.  Bill attended Aquinas College for two years and with his aptitude and interest in computers and technology, he attended a large array of technical training courses and became a technical trainer.  He enjoyed rebuilding computers as a hobby and provided technical support to neighbors and friends.  Bill worked as a Project Manager for Professional Fire & Security in Huntsville for many years responsible for the inspection, installation and repair of alarm systems in schools, hospitals, fire departments and businesses throughout Alabama and neighboring states.  He previously worked in technical support and as a technical trainer for Practice Works, a Division of Kodak in Atlanta.

Bill lived in Tennessee, Georgia, and Alabama and loved the beauty of the Southeast, most especially the mountains.  He had an adventurous spirit and the courage to explore what life had to offer. In each place he went, he made life-long friendships and brought great memories to so many. With his down-to-earth world views, genuine communication and great humor along the way, he found his favorite home in Huntsville. His world revolved around his friends and family, who he loved with his whole heart.  Bill enjoyed hiking, mountain biking, road trips and was an avid sports fan, most notably a fan of Detroit Red Wings Hockey and Syracuse University Basketball. He was a gifted cook, enjoyed gardening, and was a volunteer at a local animal shelter in Huntsville.

Bill was preceded in death by his father, William Dennis Bennink. Bill is survived by his mother, Margaret (Peggy) Bennink, of Las Vegas; sister, Kimberly Bennink, of San Diego; and brother, Brian Bennink and sister-in-law, Stephanie Bennink of Las Vegas; two nephews and a niece also of Las Vegas; his aunt and uncle, Fred and Vera Bennink of Syracuse; and several cousins of Syracuse, New York.

A Celebration of Life in loving memory of Bill will take place on Saturday, November 24 in Huntsville.  Bill will be remembered most for his warm smile, loving heart, and his willingness to lend a hand to friends and family, always going the extra mile. He will be forever remembered, forever loved, and forever missed.  We take comfort in knowing Bill is now in the arms of our Heavenly Father. Contributions in memory of Bill may be made to the American Heart Association.
