Mr. James Vernon Edwards, age 71, of Arab, passed away on Thursday, November 15, 2018 at UAB Hospital.
Mr. Edwards was born on February 6, 1947 in Marshall County to Vernon Grant Edwards & Aileen McWhorter Edwards. He worked at the unemployment office for the State of Alabama. He enjoyed attending yard sales & Arab youth sporting functions, watching Auburn Football & spending time with his grandchildren.
He was a member of New Canaan Baptist Church.
Mr. Edwards is survived by his wife of 22 years, Sandra Faye Hazelrig Edwards; son & daughter-in-law, Mark Allan Edwards & Kara; step daughter & son-in-law, Tina Morrow & Tony; sister, Glenda Sue Flack; grandchildren, Courtney Morrow, Alexa Foust, Lane Edwards, Jada Edwards. Preceded in death by his parents; step daughter, Gina Foust; cousin, Jean Hinds.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 17, 2018 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel with Bro. Jerry Burgett & Bro. Kenneth Smith, officiating. Burial will be in New Canaan Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery with Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, directing.
Pallbearers will be Chris Flack, Keith Flack, Brad Stapler, Wes Britnell, Jesse Cole & Adam Gilbert. Honorary Pallbearers will include, Sammy Waldrop, Jimmy Briscoe, Johnny Hart, Raymond Little & the Deacons of New Canaan Missionary Baptist Church.
Visitation will be 5:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Friday, November 16, 2018 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel.
