Tommie Lee Caddell – Obituary

Mr. Tommie Lee Caddell, age 74, a resident of Cheairs Circle in Columbia, passed away Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at St. Thomas West Hospital in Nashville.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at 2PM at Heritage Funeral Home. A visitation will also be held on December 1st from 1-2PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on June 5, 1944 in Moundville, Alabama, Tommie was the son of the late Ludie Caddell and the late Pinkie Weatherspoon Caddell. Growing up working on a farm, Tommie learned to drive a tractor at the age of eleven. He was a very daring and mischievous person who loved being outdoors. He had a passion for fishing but also enjoyed hunting and camping. A mechanical minded person, Tommie loved fixing things and traveling. He loved sports, especially college basketball and was an avid Tennessee Titans football fan. Tommie was a humorous person who could make a joke out of anything. Above all, he loved his family. Tommie was a member of the Jehovah’s Witnesses.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of twenty-four years: Veda Burks Caddell; children: Bridget Brand, Anthony Caddell, Tommie Caddell, Jr., T’hani Morris, Ryan Morris and Trenee Caddell; step children: Condett Suddeth, Sky Suddeth, Antwaun Burks; brothers: Johnnie (Laurie) Caddell, Frank Isaac Caddell, Bobby (Doris) White, Jackie (Fay) White, Spikey White; sisters: Dorothy Caddell (Henry) Lyons, Maxine Smith, Birdie (John) Matthews; brother-in-law: James Wendall Trabue; sister-in-law: Peggy White; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter: Tamyla Caddell; step son: Rodney Burks; sisters: Josephine Trabue, Mary Alice White; and brothers: Charles White and Robert White.
