James Nathan “J.R.” Rikard, age 67, of Florence, passed away November 8, 2018. Visitation today, November 11, 2018, from 1-2 p.m. at Spry-Williams Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be at Piney Grove Cemetery, Tuscumbia.
Mr. Rikard was a deacon and lay minister at Weeden Heights Baptist Church. He was a loving father and dedicated youth sports coach, as well as an ardent Braves and Crimson Tide fan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Bessie Rikard; and grandson, Eli Bratton.
Survivors include his children, Clay Rikard (Rachel) and Kelli Bratton (James); grandchildren, Claire, Jake, and Cate Rikard and Logan, Olivia, and Lucas Bratton; and sisters, Margaret Mitchell (Ted) and Nina Mae Malone.
