FLORENCE-Concerned citizens in Florence gathered last night, Thursday, November 8 to hold a rally to show their concern for the firing by President Trump of Attorney General Jeff Sessions.  The rally was part of a bigger country-wide rally to show support for Special Counsel Robert Mueller and concern for the firing of Attorney General Jeff Sessions.

Rallies were held in numerous cities across the country.  The rally in Florence held in front of the Post Office on N Seminary St. brought out a few dozen people with signs protesting the firing of Sessions and showing support for Mueller.

The Rally was hosted by Indivisible NW Alabama, Beyond The Women’s March and Shoals Democratic Club…the call to action statement from the Rally Facebook page:

“With President Donald Trump’s firing of Attorney General Jeff Sessions, we are at a red line. We must take to the streets in protest of any interference of the Mueller Investigation.

This is now a constitutional crisis for our country. It demands an immediate and unequivocal response to show that we will not tolerate abuse of power from Donald Trump.

Bring your signs! “

Phil Abroms was on hand to capture the rally in photos we present them to you here:
