Hettie Lee Pendegraph – Obituary

Hettie Lee Pendegraph, 94, went home to be with the Lord November 5, 2018, at The Meadows in Fulton, MS. She was born May 23, 1924 in Franklin County, AL to Bose Pulaski and Molcie King Strickland. She was a faithful member of New Union Missionary Baptist Church for seventy-seven years. She enjoyed working in her vegetable and flower gardens and was a loyal fan of the Crimson Tide.

Services will be Friday, November 9, 11 a.m. at New Union Missionary Baptist Church, Vina, AL with Bro. Jackie Gray and Bro. Daniel Merritt officiating. Burial will be in Halltown Cemetery, Vina, AL. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL will be in charge of arrangements.

She is survived by two daughters – Sandra Berry (Charles) of Pelham, AL and Charlotte Black (Bruce) of Red Bay, AL; four grandchildren –Carla Beavers (Mike), Jamie Berry (Mary), Channing Black (Kristin) and Chadrick Black (Dana); great-grandchildren – Kaleigh Black, Sidnee Beavers, Carson Black, Katie Beth Berry, Allie Black, Nicholas Berry, Bradley Ramey and Conner Ramey; three sisters-in-law – Bonnie Strickland, Earline Strickland and Pat Moore (Clyde) and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Oneal Pendegraph; her parents; seven brothers, Wason, Clint, Morris, Harvey, Orville, James Strickland and an infant brother and four sisters, Pearl Morrow, Nettie Armstrong, Una Armstrong and Norvil Lindley.

Pallbearers will be Jamie Berry, Channing Black, Chadrick Black, Mike Beavers, Bradley Ramey and Brent Collum.

Visitation will be Thursday, November 8, 6-9 p.m. at New Union Missionary Baptist Church, Vina, AL.
