Maggie Sue Bates – Obituary

Maggie Sue Bates, 74, passed away Sunday, November 4, 2018, at NMMC in Tupelo. She was born August 1, 1944 in Itawamba County to the late George “Bill” Wilburn Wigginton and the late Maggie Roberts Wigginton. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. Before she was diagnosed with M.S. she was a beautician for several years at Jo’s Salon in Fulton. She was active in her church and was a very devoted mother and grandmother who loved the presence of her family.

Services will be 11:00 am on Wednesday November 7, 2018 at Senter Funeral Home with Kevin Hurt and Bro. David Haynes officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 5:00-8:00 pm also at Senter Funeral Home. Burial will be in Itawamba Memorial Gardens.

Survivors include her daughters: Amy (Kevin) Hurt of Fulton and Michelle (Brian “Cotton”) Johnson of Nettleton; grandsons: Andrew and Ethan Hurt; granddaughter, Maddie Johnson; brothers: Ralph (Elaine) Wigginton of Mantachie and Johnny (Candie) Wigginton of Raymond, MS; sisters-in-law: Jo Wilburn, Kathy Bates, and Barbara Wigginton; brother-in-law, Weir Byrd; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jerry Bates; brothers: Bobby and Billy Wigginton; sister, Nancy Byrd.

Pallbearers are Kenny Bates, Johnny Lesley, Doug Byrd, Trent Wigginton, Shane Wigginton, Kane Bates, Chris Wigginton, Adam Bates, Joseph Wigginton
