F.11.4.18 Wayne Allen.jpgHerschel Wayne Allen, 71, passed away Friday, November 2, 2018, at Huntsville Hospital after a brief illness. Mr. Allen was a native of Franklin County, Alabama, lived most of his life in the Oak Grove Community, and retired from Harden Manufacturing Corp.

He was known for his humorous personality, a life-long love of fishing, and an extraordinary talent of picking out the very best, state-of-the-art toys for his great-grandchildren who will especially miss “Papa Wayne.”

Visitation for Mr. Allen will be at Pinkard Funeral Home, Russellville, from 1:30 until 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, November 4, 2018. Services will follow at 2:30 p.m. in the chapel, with Brother Delmer Duboise officiating. Burial will be at the Oak Grove Cemetery in Russellville.

Mr. Allen was preceded in death by his father, Herschel Allen, and his mother, Nora Gantt Allen.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Duboise Allen; son, Jody Allen; step-daughter and son-in-law, Freida and Don Garrison; granddaughter and husband, Amy Garrison and Brian Beall; great-grandchildren, Garrison and Eliza Beall; brother and sister-in-law, Doug and Joan Allen; youngest brother and sister-in-law, Greg and Gail Allen; aunt, Jo Willmarth; several special nieces, nephews; and friends.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Brian and Garrison Beall, Joe Murphy, Rick and Jay Duboise, Rick Miller, Benjamin Willmarth, John Parris, Rodger Murphree, and William Earl Bishop.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to New Hope Methodist Church, Russellville, Alabama.

Pinkard Funeral Home, Russellville, will direct the services.
