Irene Agnes Kimbrough Irene Agnes Wiles Kimbrough was born on April 24th, 1923 in Tunnelton, West Virginia and passed away at home on Dog Branch in Prospect, Tennessee on October 31st, 2018—she was 95. She is the daughter of the late Corbit Powell Wiles and Ethel Stewart Wiles of Tunnelton, West Virginia.

She graduated from Tunnelton High School and the Arthurdale School where she learned to weld. During World War II, she and George worked and met at Martin Aircraft in Baltimore, Maryland, where she was a welder making B-26 Marauder Bombers. They married in 1944 and after the war lived in Biloxi, Mississippi and Nashville, Tennessee before returning to Dog Branch. There she raised her family and was active in many community and church activities, including the Home Demonstration Club, Eastern Star and St. Andrew’s Memorial United Methodist Church. She loved gardening, quilting, sewing, canning and cooking. Always ready to lend a helping hand to friends and family, she will be missed by all who were blessed to know her.

The visitation will be Saturday, November 3rd, 2018 from 4:00pm until 8:00pm at Bennett-May-Giles County Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be Sunday, November 4th, 2018 at 2:00pm in the chapel of Bennett-May-Giles County Funeral Home with Brandon Bass officiating.
The burial will follow in the Stella Cemetery.
The family suggest memorial donations be made to the Stella Cemetery, Sandra Parsons, 2835 Hagan Road, Minor Hill, TN. 38473 or Caris Hospice, 1214 Trotwood Drive, Suite 11, Columbia, TN. 38401.

She is also preceded in death by her husband of 53 years George Robert Kimbrough; brother, Lantz Wiles; sister, Mabel Wiles Shannon, mother and father-in-law, Annie Laurie and Grover Kimbrough; two sisters-in-law, Mary Lee Kimbrough-Harris and Betty Wiles; four brothers-in-law, Dudley Harris, Gerald Shannon, Pete Maier, and Watson Maier and three infant siblings.

She is survived by four children: daughter, Beverly Kimbrough-Vail (George Vail) of Pulaski, TN; daughter, Sue Kimbrough of Cary, North Carolina; son, Robert Kimbrough (Melanie Harrison) of Loudon, Tennessee; and son, Craig Kimbrough (Jessica Hudgins) of Prospect, Tennessee. She is also survived by five grandchildren; six great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; two sisters, Lovie Maier of Tunnelton, West Virginia and Adelaide Maier of Monaca, Pennsylvania; and MANY nieces and nephews.
