Vance Banks Moore Credille – Obituary

Vance Banks Moore Credille, age 86, passed away peacefully on November 1, 2018 at his home after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on October 10, 1932 to Ellis and Ruby (Moore) Credille and was a long time resident of Belmont, Mississippi. After serving in the Armed Forces of the United States, Vance returned from Trieste, Italy in May 1955 and was later discharged on April 30, 1961. He then moved to Waukegan, Illinois in search of employment where he met the love of his life, Donna Derlynn (Styles) Credille.  The couple returned to Belmont and was wed on July 20, 1957 at his parent’s home. Vance joined his father in the plumbing and electrical business where they serviced homes all over Northern Mississippi and Alabama. After various self-employment jobs, Vance and Derlynn bought the Belmont Dixie Queen in January of 1970 where they served the public for over thirty-seven years. Later, Vance began his backhoe and trucking business, including working for Cooper Marine and Timberlands, Corp. Chip Mill at Bay Springs.  Vance never met a stranger and loved to meet new friends and spend time with old ones. He loved fixing things and found real joy in helping others. Vance attended New Providence Primitive Baptist Church, Dennis, Mississippi.

Services will be Sunday, November 4, 3 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Belmont, MS with Bro. Cecil Woodruff and Bro. Clinton Barnett officiating. Burial will be in Belmont City Cemetery, Belmont, MS. Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, MS will be in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include his wife of sixty-one years, Donna Derlynn (Styles) Credille; three daughters and sons-in-law, Tammy and Mike Byram of Dennis, Mississippi, Renda and Scott Stuart of Texarkana, Texas and Lachelle and Chad Bryant of Georgetown, Kentucky; two sisters, Charlene Moore of Birmingham, Alabama and Darcy James and husband, Lowell of Belmont, Mississippi; four granddaughters, Rachel Stuart, Lauren Bryant, Alyssa Bryant and Lydia Bryant; along with nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Pallbearers will be Todd Styles, Tom James, Richard Blanton, Barry Bolen, Mark Cameron and Billy Rogers. Honorary pallbearers will be Terry Moore, Eddie Wooten, Max Ray Hutcheson, Harold Ginn, Billy P. Sartain and J.P. Wilemon.

Visitation will be Sunday, November 4, 12-3 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, MS.
