David Eldridge Newton, Sr., 71, of Lexington, AL, passed away October 28, 2018. Mr. Newton was a retired electrician for TVA and member of IBEW Local #558. He was a member of the Baptist faith and a United States Army Veteran of the Vietnam War.

 

David is survived by:

Wife: Sandra Russell Newton

Sons: David Newton, Jr. and wife Paula of Lexington

Gil Harbin and wife Lisa of Rogersville, AL

Daughters: Dawn Newton of Lexington

Kerri Harbin of Lexington

Sister: Barbara Green of Loretto, TN

Grandchildren: His Two Sidekicks, Jyah & Harmonee Harbin

Cimoni & Jake Harding

Katie, Asa, John, & Anabelle Belew

Rylee & Kenadi Newton

Matthew, Emily, & Joy Harbin

David thought the world of all his grandchildren

 

He was preceded in death by:

Father: Asa Joshua Newton

Mother: Annie Bell Cottrell Newton

Brothers: James & Elbert Newton

 

Visitation will be Thursday, November 1, 2018 from 5-8:00 P.M. at Greenhill Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Friday at 1:00 P.M. in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Stanley Hargett officiating. Burial will be in Nebo Cumberland Presbyterian Cemetery with full military honors.

 

Pallbearers will be Patrick Hunt, Chris Hunt, Keith Hunt, Tim Corum, and Sam Edwards. Honorary pallbearers will be Mac Devine and Roy Self.

 

Greenhill Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
