Eva Mae Nunnally – Obituary

Eva Mae Nunnally, of Huntsville, passed away peacefully into the arms of her Savior on Sunday, October 28th. She was born in Jacksonville, Florida on November 14th, 1930, to Harvey J. and Isabel Barnwell. She was predeceased by her parents, her devoted husband, Jackson Leo Nunnally, and her beloved daughter, Janet Nunnally Towery.

Survivors include her son, Jackson H. Nunnally and wife, Jan; son-in-law, Bill Towery; four grandchildren, Nance Towery, McClain Towery and wife, Jacqueline, Adria Bryars and husband, Tony, and Allen Nunnally and wife, Sarah. She also was blessed to have five precious great-grandchildren.

Eva Mae and her husband, Jack, were married for 61 years. They lived in multiple cities across the US and a time in Japan, due to his military service and employment with Rockwell International. Eva Mae worked as a bank teller before her venture into the business world, when she and best friend, Joyce Allan, opened “The Wedding Company” in Huntsville, AL. She truly loved helping brides plan the perfect wedding! Eva Mae and Joyce owned and operated this successful business for over 20 years!

Eva Mae was active in her church, Weatherly Heights Baptist Church, for many years. After her move to the Magnolia Trace Retirement Community, she worshipped with the Magnolia community, whom she also loved.

Eva Mae Nunnally will be profoundly missed by her family, her Weatherly family, her Magnolia friends, and the wonderful Magnolia Staff.

Visitation will be Friday, November 2nd, from 11 a.m. to 12 noon at Weatherly Heights Baptist Church, followed by a memorial service at noon with Dr. David Freeman officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mountain Child, an organization of which Eva Mae’s grandson, Allen Nunnally, is Operations Director in Nepal. www.mountainchild.org/donate
