Jim Mitchell – Obituary

Jim Mitchell, 82 of Moulton passed away on October 28, 2018 at Princeton Baptist Hospital. He was born in Mount Hope and was Valedictorian of the 1954 class. He enjoyed all sports, Atlanta Braves biggest fan and was an avid fisherman.

Mr. Mitchell had a long career starting with Diamond Shamrock Chemical Company and retired from the 3M Company after 30 years. Jimmie was a faithful member of Moulton Church of Christ and he also was a land developer at Smith Lake.

Survivors include his Wife of 58 years, Marie McCulloch Mitchell two children and their families: Elizabeth “Libby” (Bob Frank) Smith, Blake (Irene) Mitchell. Five Grandchildren: Robert Smith, Jr, Sally Frances Smith, Margaret Mitchell, Blake Mitchell Jr, William Mitchell all of Huntsville. One Brother, Edward “Dick” Mitchell (Jane). Other extended family: Mrs. Tom McCulloch, Dr. Harvey (Cathy) McCulloch, Nell McCulloch and several Nieces, Nephews and Cousins.

Special friends were his City Hall Coffee Group.

He was preceded in death by his parents Mildred Scruggs Mitchell and Albert Ray Mitchell, Brothers John Travis Mitchell, Bill (Carolyn) Mitchell.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 31st from 10:30 -12:00 at the Moulton Church of Christ with the funeral service at 12 p.m.

Pall Bearers will be: Blake Mitchell, Robert Smith, Johnny Mitchell, Dale Mitchell, DeWayne Smith, and Donnie Mitchell.

In lieu of flowers, please make all donations to the Food Pantry at Moulton Church of Christ or Moulton Baptist Church.
