Jimmie D.Roberts – Obituary

Jimmie D.Roberts, 87, passed away Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at the Sanctuary Hospice House after an extended illness.  He was born September 2, 1931, in Itawamba County, the son of George and Ina Walton Roberts.  Jimmie served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict.  After returning home he worked as a mail sorter for the US Postal Service.  He was a member of Bissell Baptist Church and enjoyed gardening and raising cattle.

A private graveside service will be held for the family at Lee Memorial Park, however the family will receive friends from 10-11 AM Thursday at the funeral home.  Lee Memorial is entrusted with the arrangements.

Jimmie leaves behind 2 children, Michelle Graham and Larry Roberts, both of Pontotoc; 2 granddaughters, Cassie Harrison Cooper and Megan Harrison Benavidez; and 2 great-granddaughters, Lily Jo Cooper and Reese Rose Cooper.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Bobby Stegall Roberts, his parents and siblings.
