Joyce Fassett Ceci Joyce (Fassett) Ceci was born on May 25, 1935. Joyce and her family moved from Michigan to Decatur in 1973, and she quickly became involved in helping those in need in the local community. Joyce enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Joyce had many admirable qualities; first and foremost was her compassion to help anyone she could. She started each day with a purpose; thinking about who she could help that day. She touched the lives of countless people in the Decatur community, and served for many years as the Director of the Committee on Church Cooperation (CCC).

She faithfully attended Annunciation of the Lord Catholic Church for many years. She had a daily routine of praying for all those in need during her morning walks. She would end each day on her knees praying for each person in her family, as well as hurting and sick friends. Joyce was an avid fan of Michigan football and looked forward to Saturday gatherings to cheer for the Wolverines. She was always ready to share a silly joke, or to break out singing a Sinatra tune.

Joyce is survived by her son Rich (Page) Ceci and children Cara and Courtney; son Mick (Gina) Ceci and children Nicole, Michael, and Andrew; daughter Jackie (Dave) Hamilton and children Chris and Brooke; daughter Jamie (Greg) Turgeon and children Brianna, Chelsea, and Katie; son Mark and children Christina, Jason, and Rachael. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Frank Ceci and son Randy Ceci.

Joyce will be truly missed, but the world is a better place because of the life that she led. Many in the community whose lives she touched considered her a “mom”. God put her on this earth to be a shining reflection of compassion, grace, and perseverance with a positive outlook. Now, He welcomes her home and says well done, My child!
