Linda Nell Mangum – Obituary

Linda Nell Mangum, 63, of Tuscumbia, passed away Oct. 15, 2012. Visitation will be Friday, Oct. 19 from 10 a.m. to noon at Colbert Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will begin at noon in the chapel, with burial to follow at Colbert Memorial Gardens. Brother Bruce Blankinship is officiating.

She was preceded in death by parents, Herbert and Martha Narmore Mangum; and brother, Herbert E. “Herb” Mangum.

Survivors include twin brother, Larry “Pete” Mangum (Beverly); brother, Gerald “Jerry” Mangum (Patricia); sister, Carol Sue Mangum; sister-in-law, Eleanor Mangum; nephews, David, Jay, Brett and Reid Mangum; niece, Erin Mangum.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Linda was a member of River Road Church of Christ and a team member of Speical Olympics. She loved spending two weeks each summer at the Orange Grove Center Summer Camp in Chattanooga, Tenn. with her many friends. She was from the founding family of Hope Haven becoming one of the first students to attend Hope Haven for several years under the care of her beloved Mrs. Beason, whom Linda adored. Linda’s last years were speant in Monteagle, Tenn. at The Bridge Nursing Facility.

Memorials may be made to Speical Olympics, Orange Grove Center, 615 Derby St., Chattanooga, Tenn. 37404-1678.
