LIMESTONE COUNTY-Authorities report a traffic accident on Saturday, October 27 that has taken the life of a 17-year old male and injured a 16-year-old female. The accident occurred on East Limestone Road between Copeland and Mystic Dawn road on Saturday afternoon.
It has been reported the female was airlifted to an area hospital and her condition is unknown at this time.
The names of the teens have not been released pending notification of next of kin.
The wreck is still under investigation.
Trooper report:
“A single-vehicle crash at 1:10 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, has claimed the life of an Elkmont teen and injured one other teen.
The teenage driver was killed when the 2002 Nissan Maxima, he was driving, left the roadway on East Limestone Road and struck a concrete culvert. The teen driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene. A female passenger was airlifted to Huntsville Hospital.
The crash occurred five miles west of Harvest. Nothing further is available as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.”
