Paul Wayne PoteetPaul Wayne Poteet, 71, died Saturday, October 20, 2018, at his home. He was born June 12, 1947, to Willie Ozell and Vickie Rogers Poteet. He was a truck driver and owner of Poteet’s Lawn Service. He was a member of Lakeland Baptist Church. He liked working with horses in his younger years and was an antique car enthusiast who enjoyed car shows.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, October 22, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Mantachie with Bro. Mark Tutor and Bro. Danny Rushing officiating. Burial will be in the Stephens Cemetery.

Survivors include his four children, Michael Poteet and Carrie “Sissy” McCoy, both of Mantachie, Paula Kizer of Myrtle, and Willie Paul Poteet (Nikki) of New Albany; one sister, Virginia Edge of Saltillo; ten grandchildren, Nathan Poteet, J.O. Poteet, Kayla Turner (Bryan), Logan McCoy, Eli Russell, Reese Roberts, Easton Kizer, Emma Poteet, Van Paul Poteet, and Madi Jae Poteet; and two great-grandchildren, Bryson Turner and Kaelyn Turner.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Charles Smothers and Billy Joe Smothers; and one sister, Alta Brasel.

Pallbearers will be David Beasley, Kirby Turner, Donnie Turner, and Steve Brasel.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, October 21, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home in Mantachie.
