Marie Ellen Hanson, age 74, of Decatur, Alabama passed away on Wednesday October 17, 2018. Marie was born October 18, 1943 in Rapid City, SD to the late Lawrence and Hila Ellen Hanson. Marie was a member of Serenity Baptist Church. She loved to crochet, put together Jigsaw Puzzles and complete word puzzles. Marie is survived by her sisters Shirley Sivley of Decatur, Al, Judy Shoop and Patricia Maxwell both of Rapid City, SD., many nieces and nephews and a wonderful church family. Beside her parents, she was also preceded in death by two sisters Josephine Kaul and Laura Rodell of Rapid City, SD. Visitation for Marie will be held Saturday, October 20, 2018 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Serenity Baptist Church, 1062 Perkins Wood Rd, Somerville, AL. Celebration of life service will be Saturday, October 20, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Serenity Baptist Church. Marie will be laid to rest at Roselawn Cemetery.
