James Rufus Pearl – Obituary

James Rufus Pearl, 84 of Double Springs, entered into rest on Monday, October 15, 2018 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Mr. Pearl was born on June 30, 1934 in Winston County, Alabama. He attended Winston County High School and went on to Fisher Auto Body in Illinois. He was a member of Houston Church of God for forty years and a member of Double Springs Church of Christ for the last 13 years. James was a proud body man and owner of Pearl’s Body Shop in Double Springs. He was very creative and enjoyed making and inventing things.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 18, 2018 from 12-2pm at Nichols Funeral Home in Double Springs, where services will be at 2pm. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Vance Hutton and Jay Bagby will officiate.

James is survived by his wife of 25 years, Anne Pearl; daughters, Jamie Taylor and her husband David, Kristy Wood and her husband Paul, Karen Hill and her husband Ronnie; he was “Paw Paw” to 11 grandchildren, Dustin Taylor, Max Taylor, Deidra Taylor, Jay Bagby, Lane Bagby, Garrett Wood, Bryant Wood, Kim page, Shauna Goodman, Bobby Hill and Becca Hill; and 17 great grandchildren, Madalin Taylor, Amelia Taylor, Ava Taylor, Max Taylor, Jr. (Little Max), Jonas Taylor, Laken Fielder, Fallon Meadows, Haven Meadows, Tyler Page, Brant Page, Kylee Page, Landon Goodman, Ethan Goodman, Dawson Goodman, Savannah Hill, Harper Hill, and Hadelann Hill.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Gelene Pearl; parents, Rufus and Mamie Pearl; daughter, Judy Cherry; infant daughter, Sheena Ann Pearl; infant son, James Dewayne Pearl; brothers, Herman Pearl and Bob Pearl; and a host of cousins, aunts and uncles.
