FLORENCE-On Tuesday, October the Florence Police Department issued a statement regarding the arrest of a suspect on charges of Chemical Endangerment Of A Child:
“On 10-15-2018 Kristin Marie Smith, 23 of Muscle Shoals was arrested on warrants for Chemical Endangerment to a Child.
It was reported to Detective that on April 20,2018 Ms Smith gave birth to a child at a residence in Florence. She was then taken to ECM hospital for further care. Once at the hospital MS Smith and her baby was tested for narcotics, which is part of the standard care for a new born child. Both tested positive for illegal narcotics. Detective were able to get a warrant for Ms Smith which she was arrested .
Ms. Smith is currently in the Lauderdale County Detention Center on a $5,000.00 bond.”
