James B. Lawrence – Obituary

Funeral service for James B. Lawrence, 93, will be Monday, October 15, 2018 at 3:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Walter Blackman and Bro. Ralph Henderson officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.    Burial will be in Mt Tabor Cemetery.  Visitation will be Monday, October 15, 2018 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home.

Mr. Lawrence died on Friday, October 12, 2018 at his residence.  He was born August 28, 1925, in Morgan County to James Walter Lawrence and Mary Lou Cryer Lawrence.  He was a charter member of East Highland Baptist Church. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the United States Navy in the South Pacific.  Mr. Lawrence was an avid Hartselle sports fan, a member of the Morgan County Sheriff’s Posse and an active member of the American Legion.  He was retired from South Central Bell after 30 years of service as a technician . He was preceded in death by his first wife: Martha Lee Lawrence, second wife: Lillian Knight Lawrence, a son: James Barry Lawrence, and his parents.

Jay Lawrence (Martha), Hartselle, AL,
Ronnie Knight, Murfreesboro, TN,
Ricky Knight, Murfreesboro, TN and
Randy Knight, Murfreesboro, TN

One Daughter:
Barbara Lawrence Gray (Thomas), Decatur, AL

Three Grandchildren:
Drew Bartlett,
Tyler Bartlett and
Ashley Lawrence

Four Great Grandchildren:
Auston Lawrence,
Macon Lawrence,
Hunter Lawrence and
Nicholas Lawrence

Pallbearers will be Drew Bartlett, Tyler Bartlett, Auston Lawrence, Hunter Lawrence, Joe Ward and Thomas Gray.
