Katie Pearl  Vanderford Stanford, 90, a fine ole soul, died Tuesday evening, October 9, 2018 from the Reed Greenhouse at Traceway Manor after a lingering illness.  Born in Rienzi on December 20, 1927 to the late Ed and Annie Loyce Vanderford, she grew up there.  After her marriage to W.E. “Ted” Stafford, she and Ted lived most of their  married life in the Beech Springs community where she was a well respected  citizen and beloved housewife.  She spent the last many years as a resident of Traceway Manor where she made many friends. She took pride in the fact that she was one of the few World War II widows alive.

A private family graveside service will be held, per her request. There will be no public visitation.  Holland Funeral Directors, Tupelo Chapel is assisting the family.  To express sympathy to the family, go to www.hollandfuneraldirectors.com.

Katie is survived by her daughter, Barbara Keeley Clunan and husband, Paul and William Larry Stanford of Colton, California.   Grands; Brian, Alesha, Billy and Christy.  She was preceded in death by her  parents, her husband, Ted and her siblings
