Virginia Katherine Thompson – Obituary

Virginia Katherine Thompson, 81, died Wednesday, October 10, 2018, at the North Mississippi Medical Center Hospice Unit. She was born May 10, 1937, in the Unity community. She was a member of the Shiloh United Methodist Church. She was a home maker, and baby sit for the public. She enjoyed quilting, watching television, and especially enjoyed her grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p. m. Friday, October 12, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Mantachie with Rev. Bobby Hankins and Rev. Joe Coggins officiating. Burial will be in the Center Star Cemetery.

Survivors include one son, Charles Allen Thompson; one daughter, Deborah Leake (Don), both of Mantachie; one brother, Cecil Wimbs (Shirley) of Athens, GA; one sister, Mauvalene Harris (Carl) of Plantersville; three grandchildren, Rechelle Holloway, Jessica Guin (Tracy), Krystal Thompson (Jason); three great grandchildren, Elizabeth Paige Phifer, Mikayla Jade Hutcheson, and Stephanie Moore; one great -great granddaughter, Harper Elizabeth George.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Gordon Thompson; her father and mother, Dirl Wimbs and Lillian Franks Wimbs Tomlin; one grandson, Donnie Moore; three brothers, Rubel Wimbs, Wayne Wimbs, and Bobby Wimbs.

Pallbearers will be Charles Thompson, Stevie Thompson, Joe Harris, Alan Todd, Allen Wimbs, and Bobby Hawery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p. m. Thursday at McNeece-Morris Funeral Home in Mantachie.
