Margaret Swinney Welborn – Obituary

Ms. Margaret Swinney Welborn, 87, Phil Campbell, passed away Monday, October 8, 2018 at her home.

Ms. Welborn lived most of her life in Franklin County and was a member of Liberty Hill Baptist Church. She was retired from Sears, a homemaker, and care provider to her daughter, Judith Ann.

The funeral service will be Thursday, October 11, 2018 at 1 p.m. at Liberty Hill Baptist Church, Phil Campbell, with burial in the adjoining cemetery. Officiating will be Bobby Poss. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service at 11 a.m. until 1 p.m.

Survivors include children, Judith Ann Welborn, David Welborn (Kathy), Carl Welborn (Pam), Larry Welborn (Kathleen); grandchildren, Denise Birdyshaw (Joseph), Angela Kratz, Chase Welborn (Katie), Karen McGee, Matthew Welborn (Amanda), Bailey Welborn, Claire Welborn; great-grandchildren, Savanna Birdyshaw, Colton Welborn, McKenzie Kratz, Dylan McGee, Rylee Kate Welborn, Aiden McGee; brothers and sisters, Harold Swinney (Glenda), Trixie Pennington, Owen Swinney (Joyce), Lona Mauk, Wayne Swinney (Betty), Margie Aycock (Wallace); brother-in-law, Eugene Welborn (Melony); host of loving nephews, nieces and friends.

Pallbearers will be nephews.

She was preceded in death by husband, Welton Loyd Welborn; daughter, Linda Marie Welborn; parents, Floyd and Wynona Hall Swinney; brother, William Boyd Swinney.

Special thanks to nurses and care providers of Hospice of North Alabama.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Liberty Hill Southside Cemetery Fund.
