Clara Mae Rogers – Obituary

Clara Mae Rogers, 76, passed away Tuesday, October 9, 2018, at her home. She was born January 22, 1942, to Ervin Julius and Emma Beatrice Thompson Roberts. She graduated from Baldwyn High School in 1960. The following year, she married Tommy H. Rogers and would later have two wonderful children. She was of the Church of God of Prophecy faith. She worked at Charm Step in Fulton for 20 years. She enjoyed gardening and taking care of her grandkids.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, October 11, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Mantachie with Bro. Kelly Wayne Knight and Bro. Curtis Shelton officiating. Burial will be in the Center Star Cemetery.

Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Tommy H. Rogers of Guntown; one daughter, Sherry Land (Dudley) of Saltillo; one son, Joe Rogers (Marie) of Guntown; five precious grandchildren, Holly Fleming, Jeff Land, Bo Rogers, Clara Beth Rogers, and Jack Henry Rogers; five loving sisters, Blanche Speck, Mary Alice Harbor, Evelyn Miller, and Joyce Copeland (Roy), all of Baldwyn, and Ann Porter (Frank) of New Albany; a sister-in-law, Virginia Roberts; five nieces, two nephews, and many extended family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Julius Roberts; three brothers-in-law, Levi Speck, Loyce Harbor, and Jerry Miller; and one nephew.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Land, John Jackson, Will Webb, John Boy McFerrin, Matt Spradling, and Joe Rogers.

Honorary pallbearers will be Holly Fleming, Bo Rogers, Clara Beth Rogers, Jack Henry Rogers, and Marie Rogers.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home in Mantachie.
