Alice Westbrook Roberts – Obituary

Feature ImageAlice Westbrook Roberts of Huntsville, Alabama, passed away peacefully on Sunday October 7, 2018 at the age of 88.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Ann Corcoran Harris and Almand Joseph Westbrook, and her sister, Ann Westbrook Ross.

Survivors include her husband, Charles S. “Jack” Roberts; children, Frances Brown (Donnie), Charlie Roberts (Lynn), Ann DeYonker (Rod), Alice Johnston (Randy) and Jack Roberts (Tricia); grandchildren, Brook Brown Corbett (Derick), Katy Brown Allen (Kyle), Bo Brown, Valerie Roberts Woodall (Grant), Mary Lynn Roberts, Jimmy DeYonker (Michelle), Paul DeYonker (Mariel), Reilly DeYonker, Matthew Johnston (Johanna), Peter Johnston, Phillip Johnston, Will Roberts and Emma Roberts; nine great-grandchildren; brother, Joseph Westbrook (Gene);  sisters, Helen Carden (Grif), Mary Keck, and Dorothy Kuerner; and several nieces and nephews.

Alice was born in 1930 in Columbus, Georgia.  She met her devoted husband of 69 years on a blind date at Auburn University.  She was known as Robbie to her grandchildren.  She shared with them her love of the beach, family ancestry and her devout faith.  With her adorable and caring personality, she was able to make a positive difference in the lives of all who knew her.

Visitation will take place from 11 a.m. to 12 noon Thursday, October 11 at St. Mary of the Visitation Catholic Church, with the funeral Mass immediately following.  Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery. A reception will follow.
Memorials may be made to Huntsville Hospital’s Hospice Family Care or to MD Anderson Cancer Center.
