One Dead After Traffic Accident At Darby Drive And Cox Creek Parkway

UPDATE FROM THE FLORENCE POLICE DEPARTMENT ON MONDAY, OCTOBER 8 TRAFFIC ACCIDENT:
“The accident involved two vehicles and occurred between Martins and Gresham Rd on Cox Creek Pkwy.

The victim, Rebecca Gamble 54yoa Sheffield, Al, was a passenger in a vehicle driven by her husband, Wesley Gamble. The driver of the other vehicle was Maggie Sherrill.

Our traffic officers are still collecting information and talking to witness and the drivers to help determine the cause of the accident.”

FLORENCE-The Florence Police Department issued a statement concerning an accident the occurred on Monday, October 8.  The accident resulted in the death of one person:

“At approximately 10 pm on 10-8-18 officers responded to the intersection of Cox Creek Parkway and Darby Dr concerning a traffic accident with injuries.

Once the officers arrived, they found the passenger of one of the vehicles was still inside it. Florence Fire and EMS arrived and removed them from the vehicle. She was med-flighted to Huntsville Hospital where she later died due to her injuries.

The accident is still an ongoing investigation by our Traffic Officers, and no names will be released until we are sure the family is notified.”

Correction to article the date should be October 8
