Kenneth Hudson Orick, 92, passed away Sunday, October 7, 2018, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford, MS. He was born in Dennis, MS to Oscar and Sarah Altie Lindsey Orick. He was retired as a chemical engineer from TVA and had served as a minister at Hill’s Chapel Church of Christ. He was a member of Highland Park Church of Christ and was a veteran of the US Army serving in WWII and Korea.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, October 10, at 3 p.m. at Liberty Church of Christ in Dennis, MS with Daniel Sparks, Matthew Sparks and Justin Orick officiating. Burial will be in Lindsey Cemetery, Dennis, MS. Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, MS will be in charge of arrangements.
He is survived by three children-Kenneth R. Orick (Betty) of Apple Valley, CA, Sheila R. Sparks of Belmont, MS and Michael T. Orick (Susan) of Muscle Shoals, AL; six grandchildren-Matthew Sparks (Melanie) of Hattisburg, MS, Daniel Sparks of Belmont, Shannon Orick and Jason Orick both of Apple Valley, CA, Justin Orick of Sheffield, AL and Jessica Rogers (Josh) of Charleston, WV; ten great-grandchildren-Devin Garcia, Parker Sparks, Seth Sparks, Hope Orick, Somerlyn Orick, Jaxon Orick, Savannah Sparks, Naomi Sparks, Nola Nicole Orick and Annabelle Rose Rogers; one great-great-grandson-Elijah Glover and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife-Willia Mae Orick; his parents; six brothers and two sisters.
Pallbearers will be Phil Moore, Joey Moore, Gary, Justin Orick, David Moore, Chris Moore and Bobby Lindsey. Honorary pallbearer will be David Gooch.
Visitation will be Tuesday, October 9, 6-8 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, MS and he will lie-in-state of Liberty Church of Christ from 1-3 p.m. on Wednesday.
