Horace “Frog” Bragwell – Obituary

Horace “Frog” Bragwell, 87, of Florence, AL, passed away at his home on Wednesday, October 3, 2018.

 

Visitation will be Friday, October 5, 2018 from 9-11 a.m. at Greenview Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Tommy James and Alan Bragwell officiating. Burial will follow in Greenview Memorial Park.

 

Mr. Bragwell was a longtime resident of Lauderdale County for over 50 years, and was well-known as owner of Bragwell’s Alignment Service in Muscle Shoals until his retirement. He was a member of Faith Church and was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War.

 

Mr. Bragwell never let go of his roots and pride in being from Belgreen, AL. He enjoyed eating out anytime and anywhere, watching college football, NASCAR, and following current events. Before his eyesight failed, he enjoyed reading history books, the National Geographic, the newspaper, and his Bible. He was a regular member of the local auction community and a regular for breakfast at Bojangles in Florence.

 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Holden Bragwell.

 

He is survived by his son, Alan Bragwell and wife Debra; grandson, Andrew Bragwell and wife Meagan Gaston Bragwell; brothers and sisters-in-law, Hollis and Elaine Bragwell, and Howard Bragwell and Geral Baker; and numerous nieces and nephews.

 

Pallbearers will include: Andrew Bragwell, Tim Bragwell, Darryl Holden, Jim Maples, Tanner Maples, and Brian Holden.
