Athens Woman Arrested Charged With Domestic Violence 2nd Along With Several Drug Charges

ATHENS-Athens Police Chief Floyd Johnson released a statement on Wednesday, October 3 regarding a domestic violence arrest on Tuesday evening, October 2:

“Last night Mollie Irene Rosenblum was arrested for domestic violence assault 2nd degree, illegal possession of marijuana, unlawful possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Officers had been called to Hines Street near 5th Avenue about a suspicious man bleeding from his leg walking down the street. When Officer Mac McWhorter arrived he called for an ambulance due to injury to the man’s leg. The man told McWhorter his girlfriend threw a metal file at him hitting him in the leg.

Officer Jarrod Smith went to Rosenblum’s apartment and contacted her. She asks Smith to come inside where she could explain her side. While inside the apartment Officer Smith noticed digital scales, Methamphetamine. Later officers located marijuana and other items of paraphernalia. Rosenblum was transported to the police department where she was booked and transferred to the county jail.

The victim was treated at the emergency room and released.”
