Funeral service for John Dave Nelson, 56, will be Friday, October 5, 2018 at 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church of Falkville, Alabama with Bro. Steven Cannon officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Cook Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, October 4, 2018 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home.
Mr. Nelson died on Sunday, September 30, 2018 at his residence. He was born December 20, 1961, in Morgan County to John Nelson and Martha Gail Smith Nelson. Dave was a 1980 graduate of Falkville High School where he excelled in football, basketball and baseball. He also attended Calhoun College, Northwest Shoals College, University of North Alabama in Florence and the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. He and his wife were avid fans of the Crimson Tide football team and fans of the Music group “Steely Dan”. They together, shared a love of the same foods, cooking, music, tv shows, movies and their pet cats. He and Rosemary had the same christian and political beliefs and loved watching Fox News. Dave was employed by Kennametal as a machinist.
