Betty Wells Smith Betty Wells Smith, age 90, of Russellville, passed away on Friday, September 28, 2018 at her residence surrounded by her family.

Mrs. Smith was a lifetime member of Isbell United Methodist Church and worked for 25 years at the Alabama Employment Office before retiring. She enjoyed her bowling league when she was younger.   She was all about her family, being a loving wife, wonderful mother, and an exceptional grandmother.

The visitation will be 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. Monday, October 01, 2018 at Spry Memorial Chapel.  The funeral will follow at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel with Rev. David Lee and Rev. Will Wells officiating.   Burial will be at Franklin Memory Gardens.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Smith; daughter, Lisa Smith Davis; great-granddaughter, Taryn Cox; parents, Posey E. & Maudie (Scruggs) Wells; brother, William C. “Buck” Wells; and sister, Hazel East.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her son, Ronald L. Smith (wife, Debra); grandchildren, Allison (Chris) Cruz, Adron (Amanda) Davis, Kristen (Matt) Davidson, Melanie (Scott) Bryant; great-grandchildren, Levi Davis, Grant Davis, Olivia Davidson, Barrett Davidson, Harper Bryant; sister, Mary (Ford) Pace; sisters-in-law, Ruth Smith, Alice Wells; and numerous nieces & nephews.

The pallbearers will be Adron Davis, Chris Cruz, Matt Davidson, Scott Bryant, Stan Davis, and Oliver Franklin.  The honorary pallbearers will be Ford Pace, Jeff Bradford, Donnie Pruett, and Daniel Pruett.

The family would like to offer a sincere thanks to our special caregivers, Barbara Martin and Laura Pruett; as well as to Kellon Lowery and Tiona Seay of Hospice of North Alabama for your love and care of our mother and grandmother.  Your wonderful care and devotion to our mother and grandmother meant the world to us.
