Judith Ann (Williams) Askins
Judy was born in Riderwood, Alabama on July 23rd, 1935. Later moving to Clanton, Alabama she graduated as the valedictorian of Chilton County High school in 1953. Three years later, she graduated with a 4.0 average from Samford University. Judy later pursued her Masters in Education from the University of Alabama at Tuscaloosa.
She married her high school sweetheart, David Glennis Askins in 1956. And then followed her husband in support of his 45 year ministry to; Louisville, Kentucky, Adairville, Kentucky, Alexander City, Alabama, Albertville, Alabama and Savannah, Georgia. During those years, Judy taught high school English and later focused on her true calling–teaching children with learning disabilities which she taught for 24 years.
Mrs. Askins has two sons, David and Jonathan. David Jr. lives in Birmingham with his wife, Karen, and has two children, Jordan (28) and Devon (22). Jonathan is living in Scott, Arkansas with his wife, Leigh Anna, and has two children, Jonathan Jr. (20) and Jessica (16).
Judy, known for ability to speak, always enjoyed speaking to civic groups, education workshops or women’s clubs but her favorite group to speak and visit in her later years was the Savannah Baptist Center Senior Adults.
Today, Judy celebrates with family that had gone on before her and with our Lord Jesus Christ.

Her Funeral Service will be 2 p.m. Sunday, September 30, 2018 at First Baptist Church of Albertville with burial to follow at Hillview Memorial Park in Alexander City. Bro. Chris Johnson will be officiating. Pallbearers will be Family and Friends. Visitation will be Sunday 1 until 2 before the service at the church
