Molly Hoedel Wilson – Obituary

Molly Hoedel Wilson, 92, of Victor, Montana, long time resident of Poplar Springs, Alabama, died September 23, 2018 of causes incident to age.

She was born in Detroit, Michigan on May 23, 1926 to Mary Honas Hoedel and Josef Frank Hoedel. Molly grew up in Colorado.  She married Aubrey Lee Wilson on November 4, 1944 in Denver, Colorado.  In 1946, they with their baby daughter Donna moved to Poplar Springs.  His work took them to several other states.  While living in Florida, their son Alan was born.  Molly was a caregiver.  In 1960 and 1961, she became an LPN nurse.  In 1961, the family moved back to Poplar Springs.  She went back to school and became an RN.  She worked at People’s Hospital and Walker County Medical Center.  After 32 years of nursing, she retired. She and Lee spent many happy years in retirement.  He died in 2006.  She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, church family and her friends.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 29, from 11-12 noon at Old Union Baptist Church, County Road 70, Nauvoo, Alabama, where services will follow at 12. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.

She is survived by her daughter, Donna, of Utah; son, Alan, of Montana; 9 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; 9 brothers and sisters.
